How to Hush a Dog. There are more households with pet dogs in Japan than households with pet cats. Normally, the dogs stay near the hallway or outside in the garden. And when strangers pass the house, they bark at them terribly loudly.
I’m sure that a great many people have already been scared by a dog’s “Wan-wan* !”
So I’m going to tell you how to hush a pesky dog. When it barks its “Wan” at you, you simply have to say “two”. If you do that, the dog can’t say the following “three” and has thus no other option than to shut up.
* The Japanese phonetic value for a dog's barking, like the English "Woof, woof!"
